Cancer is an umbrella term for a large group of related diseases. In all types of cancer abnormal cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissues or organs. Cancer is the second leading cause of death around the world and is responsible for around 1 in every 6 deaths worldwide. Today, many people with cancer receive a large part of their care at home instead of in a hospital. This means its important to have a caregiver who can help with day-to-day care and meet their needs both during and after cancer treatment. This module will help caregivers increase their understanding of cancer, enabling you to identify common signs and symptoms of cancer, recognize how cancer may be treated, and describe ways you can best support someone suffering from the illness.
CEU is short for "continuing education unit." Most aides in the U.S. are required to have at least 12 CEU inservice hours per year in order to renew their registration.
Simply select a Caregiver, HHA, or CNA CEU course that you'd like to learn more about. Complete the interactive module to learn the material - it's free to learn. At the end of each module, you will be invited to take a quiz. After successfully completing the quiz, you can choose to purchase or send to an employer for purchase a CE certificate to use towards your state credits. Your certificate will even get reviewed and signed by a Nevvon RN! Additionally, if you're looking for a job and have completed a job application on myCNAjobs, the course will automatically get added to your caregiver resume so you can bring it along to interviews. If you are not in need of CE credit at this time, you may still complete as many modules as you like for free. As a healthcare worker, it's always great to learn something new! After course completion (regardless if you choose to pay for the CE), your completion credit will get added to your myCNAjobs resume.

You can choose to go through the e-learning modules as slowly or quickly as you'd like. Typically, each CEU course takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete, including the interactive quiz.
